Awards and Grant Opportunities at Monash

The Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CALT) via the Promoting Excellence Initiative (PEI) Team manages various Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) Awards and Grant opportunities within Monash and has been funded by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council since 2008.

The Awards and Grants section provides information on various award and grant opportunities at Monash University for Monash staff and offers assistance for these award or grant applications.

The PEI team manages the following awards, grant and fellowship programs:

The role of the PEI team is to ensure that the excellent teaching practices of Monash teaching staff are recognised and rewarded nationally. The PEI team actively contributes to the development of the University's learning and teaching research performance through identification of and liaison with potential funding bodies. The team delivers high quality customer focused support to the University's learning and teaching research community through:

  • Promoting awareness of funding opportunities through the ALTC and other funding schemes such as the ARC and NHMRC
  • Disseminating information about ALTC award and grant opportunities through workshops and seminars
  • Administering the University's applications to the ALTC awards and grant schemes
  • Ensuring the alignment of faculty, university and national award systems
  • Providing assistance and support to individuals and teams in constructing award applications and/or grant proposals

The PEI team consists of

  • Ms Joy Whitton (Editing and Advice on drafts)
  • Ms Christianna Braithwaite (Awards and Grants Officer - Information and Administration)
